Long Hot Summer in an Old Soviet Car
Dirty Dishes
In the late 80's when I was about 6 I lived in the U.S.S.R. Each summer my family would take a road trip in our old Soviet family-sedan. We would spend the summer driving along these seemingly endless roads, camping all across the former republics of the Soviet Union.
The spaces between anything remotely resembling populated areas were at times easily 2-3 days drive, the roads were one lane in each direction and largely empty with the exception of the occasional car or truck. The music in this mix resonates almost exactly with the feeling I had on those long hot summers staring out of the window and seeing nothing but forests, fields, rivers and lakes for miles driving on seemingly endless and mostly empty roads.
Sorry, comments closed for the season.
