Mid-summer heat can be a real bitch in the South, especially if you have asthma. The humidity gives the air a thickness that seems to continually fold over on itself yielding a bleary July afternoon heavy as bricks. But, it reminds me of some of my favorite attributes in music. My submission to this year's Summer Mix Series includes bands that influenced, were a part of, or were influenced by the Shoegaze genre.
